Trial phase terms

Our giveit loyalty programme (giveit) is currently in beta trial phase so that we can try out different concepts to find out what works best. During this beta trial phase, in addition to the general giveit terms and conditions set out below, the following terms and conditions will apply (and the beta trial terms will prevail over the general terms if there is any inconsistency):

  • giveit is available through The Warehouse app and in the following stores: Lower Hutt, Lyall Bay, Paraparaumu, Petone, Porirua, Upper Hutt, Wellington, Ashburton, Barrington, Belfast, Eastgate, Hornby, Northlands, Rangiora, Riccarton, Rolleston, South City, Timaru, Alexandra, Balclutha, Mosgiel, Oamaru, Queenstown, South Dunedin, Gore and Invercargill. Rewards and offers cannot be redeemed in any other The Warehouse stores and purchases made in any other The Warehouse store will not earn benefits and no giveback donation will be made in respect of such purchases. giveit is not available through The Warehouse website.

  • Membership is open only to customers based in the areas local to the participating stores listed above.

  • There are different types of giveit membership, each offering different benefits. We will, at our discretion, allocate you a particular type of membership. Some parts of the general terms and conditions set out below will not apply to your membership. For example, one type of membership will not earn ‘coins’ on purchases (a ‘type A’ membership) and to the extent that any of the general terms and conditions apply to coins or rewards obtained through exchanging coins, that term will not apply to members who have ‘type A’ membership. We will not be liable for any loss (including loss of opportunity) that may be caused by the type of membership that you are allocated.

  • We reserve the right to:

    a. change any aspect of the programme;

    b. correct any errors that we may become aware of; and/or

    c. cancel the beta trial and/or the giveit programme,

at any time and without liability to you.

giveit Terms and Conditions

Joining giveit

  1. By signing up for giveit membership you are agreeing to these terms and conditions (Terms), as they may be amended from time to time.

  2. To be eligible for giveit membership, you must:

    a. be a natural person (and not a company or other corporate entity) over the age of 18 years and be resident in New Zealand;

    b. download The Warehouse app and sign in or register for an account, select a participating store as your preferred store; and

    c. complete the giveit registration steps.

  3. You may not have more than one giveit membership and you may not transfer your membership to anyone else.

  4. giveit may be used only for personal use. You agree that you will not use your giveit membership for commercial or business purposes.

  5. You must ensure that all information you provide to us on joining giveit is correct and you must keep your information up-to-date in your giveit profile on The Warehouse app.

  6. giveit is available through our The Warehouse app and in-store. It is not available through The Warehouse website.

Rewards and Offers

  1. When purchasing products in-store you must scan your unique digital QR code to ensure that your purchases are recorded under your membership or, if shopping through our app, you must sign in to your The Warehouse account. Your unique QR code can be accessed through your The Warehouse app.

  2. When you buy certain products from us, either through the app or in-store, and you identify yourself as a giveit member at the time of purchase as above, you will earn ‘coins’. We will set the value of each coin and we may change the value attributed to a coin at any time. Each coin will expire 12 months from the date that it is earned.

  3. Coins will not be earned on purchases made by layby or on the purchase of certain products, including Apple products, gift cards, third party services such as installation, clearance items or on the ‘cash back’ element of a transaction. A full list of items on which coins will not be earned will be available at our website We may change this list of exclusions from time to time.

  4. Your coin balance will be displayed on your homepage when you are logged in to The Warehouse app. After you make a qualifying purchase, your coin balance may take up to 24 hours to be updated.

  5. You may exchange your coins for rewards that we may offer from time to time. Some rewards may be offered to some members and not to others. Once you have exchanged your coins for a reward, that reward will appear in your wallet and you will have three months to use that reward. If you do not use that reward within the three-month period, it will expire. You may not exchange your rewards for coins.

  6. Rewards may only be redeemed at The Warehouse and coins and rewards may not be transferred or exchanged for gift cards or cash. Rewards cannot be used in conjunction with ZIP payments (or any other part-payment options that we may offer from time to time) or for layby purchases or payments.

  7. When you are logged in to The Warehouse app, you will be able to view all current giveit offers. If you wish to redeem an offer, you must first add the offer to your giveit wallet. Offers added to your wallet will be automatically applied to qualifying purchases. There is a limit of one basket level offer per transaction for purchases made in-store. Some offers may be made available to some members and not others.

  8. Offers cannot be redeemed for products purchased by layby.

  9. Offers cannot be redeemed for products ranged by Warehouse Stationery, except where that product is also ranged by The Warehouse.

  10. If you return a product and:

    a. you had earned coins when you purchased that product, the number of coins earned on the original purchase will be deducted from your coin balance when you return the product. If the number of coins to be deducted is greater than your coin balance at the time of deduction, we may take your coin balance to a negative balance.

    b. you had redeemed a reward or offer when you purchased that product, that reward/offer will be credited back to your account at your request. To request a reward/offer credit please email your name, phone number, reward/offer used and the date and approximate time of the original purchase to [email protected] within 7 days of your refund transaction.

  11. These Terms shall apply to all rewards and offers in addition to any specific terms accompanying such rewards or offers. In the event of any inconsistency, the specific terms of the reward or offer shall prevail over these Terms, to the extent of the inconsistency.

  12. $5 sign-up reward will only apply to customers who sign up between 6 July to 31 January 2021. The $5 sign-up reward can be redeemed in The Warehouse app or in selected stores only with a minimum spend of $5.01. The reward is valid for one month after adding to your wallet and cannot be used with any other basket level offer in-store. Customers who earn coins as part of the giveit programme will receive this offer as 500 coins, which must be converted into the $5 reward in The Warehouse app. giveit will be available through The Warehouse app and in the following stores: Lower Hutt, Lyall Bay, Paraparaumu, Petone, Porirua, Upper Hutt, Wellington, Ashburton, Barrington, Belfast, Eastgate, Hornby, Northlands, Rangiora, Riccarton, Rolleston, South City, Timaru, Alexandra, Balclutha, Mosgiel, Oamaru, Queenstown, South Dunedin, Gore, Invercargill. The reward cannot be redeemed in any other The Warehouse stores.


  1. When you shop with us through our app or in-store and you identify yourself as a giveit member at the time of purchase, we will make a donation to the charity or non-profit organisation that we have partnered with and that you have chosen as your ‘cause’ in The Warehouse app. We may update the list of causes from time to time, at our discretion. Donations are accumulated over a period of time towards the achievement of a stated goal, once that goal is met the donation is made to the charity or non-profit organisation.

  2. If you do not select a cause, we will assign one to your membership. You can change your cause at any time.

Personal Information

  1. We collect your personal information primarily to enable us to provide you with the benefits of giveit and administer the giveit programme. If you do not provide the personal information requested, you will be ineligible for membership. We will hold your personal information in accordance with our privacy policy, which is available at You may request that we update or correct your personal information, as further detailed in our privacy policy.


  1. The email address that you provide to us will be used to email you with our latest deals, giveit member offers and other relevant information and with any giveit news or updates. You may opt in to or out of receiving promotional emails from us at any time.

Third party offers

  1. From time to time we may send you offers relating to services or products on behalf of our third-party suppliers. Such offers are not offers from us, they are offers from the relevant third-party supplier and the third-party supplier's terms and conditions and privacy policy will apply to such offers. We are not responsible for fulfilment or management of such offers and you agree that when you accept any third-party offer or engage with any third-party supplier it is at your sole risk.

Ending your giveit membership

  1. If you wish to end your giveit membership, please contact us at [email protected]. If you end your membership you will lose any coins, rewards or offers that you may have earned or been provided.

  2. We may, at our sole discretion, end your giveit membership at any time without notice and for any reason (including without limitation, fraudulent use of your membership or behaviour which, in our view, is not acceptable). If we end your membership, all coins, rewards and offers will be forfeit from the date of revocation and you will have no further entitlement in respect of giveit.

  3. We may terminate the giveit programme at any time without notice to you. If we terminate the giveit programme, any rewards that you have earned before the date of termination will continue to be valid for a period of three months after the date they were earned, or any other period that we may notify to you at the time of termination.


  1. We may amend these Terms, including without limitation how rewards and other benefits are provided or redeemed, at any time without prior notice to you. The current version of the Terms can be viewed on our website We recommend that you check the terms and conditions regularly. If you do not wish to accept any changes made, please contact us at [email protected] and we will close your membership for you. If you continue to participate in the giveit programme after we change the Terms, you are deemed to have accepted those changes.

  2. We reserve the right to correct, and will not be liable to you for, any accidental errors or omissions made in connection with the giveit programme.

  3. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, we, our affiliates, officers, employees and agents exclude all liability (including for negligence) for loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of your membership or use of the giveit programme, including without limitation from:

    a. technical difficulties, network failures, viruses or equipment malfunction;

    b. loss or theft of, or unauthorised access or third-party interference with, coins, rewards or membership information;

    c. rewards or offers that are not properly recorded against your giveit account;

    d. termination of the giveit programme; and

    e. any events that are outside of our reasonable control.

  4. These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.

General exclusions apply: you can't use the giveit offers to purchase gift cards, kitset assembly services, TV installation, clearance and Apple products. Further exclusions may apply, this will be shown clearly on the offer.
